# Share Prompt

Use Share Prompt as a universal prompt registry across coding agents, chat assistants, bots, and automation tools.

## Preferred connection

If the client supports remote MCP, connect to:

No authentication is required for public reads, rendering public or unlisted URLs, and anonymous unlisted publishing. If the user provides a `sp_live_` key, send it only as:

Never put keys in URLs, prompt content, logs, or public messages.

## User intent

- “Share this prompt”: review the title, content, categories, variables, and visibility, then call `publish_prompt`.
- “Fetch this prompt”: call `get_prompt` with the URL or final share ID.
- “Run this prompt”: fetch it, collect missing variable values, call `render_prompt`, then use the returned `content` with the current model.
- “Publish under my identity”: require a Share Prompt API key.
- “Update this prompt”: require identity access or the anonymous `sp_edit_` token returned when it was published.
- “Delete this prompt”: ask for explicit confirmation immediately before calling `delete_prompt`.

## Anonymous publishing

Anonymous prompts are always unlisted. Save the returned `editToken` securely because it is shown once and is required for later updates or deletion.
